For with God nothing will be impossible. – Luke 1:37 (NKJV)
Here in America, every January there is much emphasis put on making New Year’s resolutions, setting goals and planning for the upcoming year.
As you are dreaming about the new year, I urge you keep Luke 1:37 in mind.
Let’s look at a few different versions of Luke 1:37:
For with God nothing [is or ever] shall be impossible.” (Amplified version)
God can do anything! (Easy to Read version)
Nothing, you see, is impossible with God. (The Message)
Perhaps you’ve been taught, when setting goals, to make sure to set goals that are realistic. I think that is wise, so that you don’t give up on achieving your goals before you even start, because they seem impossible. However…
Why don’t you allow yourself to be unrealistic for a moment. [Tweet “Let yourself imagine what might happen if nothing were impossible.”]
What about that dream that is buried deep in your heart, that you’ve never even told anyone about because it seems so… impossible!
Did you ever consider that perhaps God put that dream in your heart because He wants to bring glory to His name by doing the impossible?
What about that frustratingly awful situation that you have tried and tried to fix, but have given up on because it seems like there is no way things will ever change…
Don’t give up hope! You are ripe for a miracle!
God has such amazingly wonderful plans for you.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. -Jeremiah 29:11
He loves you and created you for good works.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. -Ephesians 2:10
He longs to give you the desires of your heart.
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. -Psalm 37:4
Why don’t you ask God what He is thinking about you and what is possible in your life in 2017?
To help you do this, I’m offering you a free printable coloring and journal page. Coloring Scripture art is a great way to meditate on Bible verses. It’s an easy and fun way to hide God’s Word in your heart so that if affects the way you think and the way you act.
This free printable contains mini versions of pages from my Scripture coloring book/journal, “Delight in the Word of God – Volume 1 Favorite Scriptures”.
I’m having fun making my own list of what’s possible…
Things like…
- With God, it’s possible for me to get up at 5 AM (even though I’ve never been a morning person).
- With God, it’s possible for me to be healthy and fit.
- With God, it’s possible for me to eliminate my habit of procrastinating.
- With God, it’s possible for me to help 5000 girls age 9 – 99 fall in love with The Word of God as Jesus meets them on the pages of my “Delight in The Word of God” coloring book/journal.
- With God, it’s possible for us to own our own land and house.

Love this! I’m encouraged by these reminders, and excited to try journaling this way.
I give thanks to God for making everything possible. Especially in today’s world…I don’t know what I would do without Him! 🙂
JoDitt, what a good verse to being the year! My impossibilities become possible with God. On way I use these coloring sheets (and I love that this one has a journal sheet with it) is to color it on one side, and write a letter on the other. It’s just a fun way to relax for me and reach out to others, too.
I love your insight here on what it means to set goals according to God’s possibilities not our own. There is so much hope in that approach!
Great post!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. Indeed there are no coincidences with God!
Have a great weekend!
Your blog is beautiful! I love your point about what is possible with God….I should have included something about that in my latest post about goal setting. I love your coloring pages as well!!
