Our topic for this week is ENTHUSIASM!
Michelle and Jessica talk in their book about how enthusiasm is rooted in your Big Likes. Big Likes are the things that you just really enjoy (maybe you’d even go so far as to say you LOVE some of them!), just because. You don’t have to have a reason. Nobody can tell you you “shouldn’t” like them. Your Big Likes are the things that make you YOU, and they’re the things that are ultimately going to bring you the most happiness in your life.
So I have begun making a list of my Big Likes and I can confirm that my enthusiasm grows even just thinking about the things I like. Here is what I have so far (in no particular order):
- the feel of sunshine on my face
- pastel colors
- the sweetness of God revealed in Jesus
- walking barefoot in the grass (provided there are no stickers)
- anything that is heart-shaped
- dancing
- gently swaying on a porch swing
- hugs
- participating in small Bible study groups
- strawberries
- quilts
- making gifts for my loved ones
- drawing/doodling
- adding color to my doodles and turning them into patterns
- fiddle music
- french braids
- curly Qs
- scrapbooking
- the color pink (light pink, hot pink, medium pink… I like all shades of pink)
- ribbons and bows
- ruffles
- butterflies
I’ve also created a Pinterest Board of things that “Make My Heart Smile.”
