Coloring is so relaxing and a great way to delight in The Word of God. I hope you take some time to color this Easter weekend, whether you color a Scripture coloring page, in a coloring book (like my Delight in The Word Devotional Coloring Book) or in a journaling Bible. If you are needing some inspiration, I recorded a short hyper-lapse video so you can see how to color an Easter lily.
The trick to adding dimension to a flower is that…
you want to start with the lightest color.
- Color the entire petal using the lightest color.
- Then use a darker shade, starting in the middle of the flower, going about half-way toward the tip of the petal.
- Then use an even darker shade, staying close to the middle of the flower.
- Finally, I like to outline each petal with one of the darker colors.
I used Crayola colored pencils in the video.
The coloring page shown in the video is available in my Easter Printables Bundle.
